Ministry Update!
Recently, Messiah Lutheran Church joined many others to help “Feed the Northeast.” The program was sponsored by Thrivent Financial, a non-profit insurance/financial company.
“Feeding the Northeast” asked groups or congregations to donate 500 items of food to their local food pantry. In return, Thrivent offered to pay some start-up costs for the food drive and $500 to those food pantries helped by the first 100 groups or congregations to send them a picture of themselves with the food.
This year Messiah has collected many hundreds more than the 500 food pantry items needed and sent Thrivent our picture in time to make the first 100. So today folks from our church took hundreds of food and pantry items to St Casimir’s food pantry in Woodbine, NJ. We also informed them that they’ll be receiving a check for $500 from Thrivent Financial within the next two weeks!
